Sabbath/Sabt/ Saturday:-
According to the Hebrew Bible, it is the seventh day of creation. In Hebrew, Sabbath means Cessation (from work/Cessation of Creation).
Genesis 2:1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.2. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.3. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it He had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The Quran, MISREPRESENTS the Biblical meaning of REST and assumed that the Torah actually meant that the Almighty got TIRED from creating.
50:38 We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days nor did any sense of weariness touch Us.
*** The expression 'weariness touch Us' above means to be tired, which is not what the Biblical narrative means.
Muhammad - as usual - completely MISUNDERSTOOD the concept of the Sabbath as is shown in his Quran.
God stopped/ceased from CREATING on the 7th day since He had already accomplished ALL His purposes by the 6th day and NOT because He was TIRED as the Quran and its interpreters falsely and ignorantly allege the meaning to be.
The Hebrew mind, the same that conceived of the Unity of God could not and would not have attributed to Him the human characteristic of getting tired unlike the mind of Muhammad and his followers who do ***
2:65 And well ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath; We said to them: "Be ye apes despised and rejected."
4: 47 O ye unto whom the Scripture hath been given! Believe in what We have revealed concerning that which ye possess, before We destroy countenances so as to confound them, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath breakers (of old time). The commandment of Allah is always executed.
*** In both of the verses above, Allah cursed ONLY those who broke the Sabbath rule and NOT All of the Jews nor does the verse imply that the Jews are descended from apes as the Mendacious and Hatemongering Muhammadans deliberately assert ***
4:154 And We caused the Mount to tower above them at (the taking of) their covenant: and We bade them: Enter the gate, prostrate! and we bade them: Transgress not the Sabbath! and We took from them a firm covenant.
#658 In this verse there is a recapitulation of three salient incidents of Jewish refractoriness already referred to in the second Sura: viz., (1) the Covenant under the towering height of Sinai, ii. 63: (2) their arrogance where they were commanded humility in entering a town, ii. 58: and (3) their transgression of the Sabbath, ii. 65#
*** Both the Quran and its interpreters continue their malicious, false and deliberate denigrations and attacks on the Jews to make themselves 'look' superior and better.
Can any follower of Muhammad answer the following:
Where and when in the Bible is it mentioned that the 'Jews' transgressed the Sabbath?
After all, they are the only ones on the face of the earth at the time who kept the Sabbath.
Which Jews, how many of them and where did this event occur?
Where did the Quran get its 'information' from?
Why would Gabriel falsify history and give totally untrue information to Muhammad?
Which town were they commanded to enter with humility?
Which Sabbath transgression is the Quran pointing to?
If the Sabbath is so important to the Quran,why then was it not commanded to be a day of rest for the Muhammadans also?
After all, they ended up with no day of rest.
Where in the Bible does it mention that Allah raised the mountain over the Jews?
Where in the Bible is there ever mention of Allah?
Where in the Bible is there mention of Allah cursing the Sabbath breakers into "Be ye apes despised and rejected." ? ***
7: 163 Ask them (O Muhammad) of the township that was by the sea, how they did break the Sabbath, how their big fish came unto them visibly upon their Sabbath day and on a day when they did not keep Sabbath came they not unto them. Thus did We try them for that they were evil-livers.
*** The same Quran that does not believe in the sanctity of the Sabbath as a day of rest for the Israelites has fabricated a totally meaningless self contradicting story.
When one STUDIES the verse carefully, one will understand that it can have TWO contradictory meanings:
a) The fish of this particular town were GENIUSES because they did NOT appeare during all the first SIX DAYS of the week but ONLY on the Sabbath when observant Jews would not 'break the Sabbath'
and hence would not fish them.
b) They must be the most STUPID fish since they come ONLY on the Sabbath to entice the Jews to 'break the Sabbath'
and fish them ***
16:124 The Sabbath was only made (strict) to those who disagreed (as to its observance); but Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to their differences.
*** Muhammad's Quran in its total ignorance of the concept of a 'day of rest' does not explain the meaning and purpose of the Sabbath as a day for the cessation of all work related activities, not only for the People, but also for their slaves, their animals and their land so that they can enjoy God's bounty and His creation.
Since Muhammad was of Pagan background and hence IGNORANT of Previous Revelations such as the Bible, his memory depended on stories that he heard about its contents from Judaized Arabs or Christian Arabs but - as was his wont - completely misunderstood the meaning of both the letter as well as the spirit of such a SUBLIME CONCEPT ***
