Surah Al-Fathiha (The Opening) (1)-7

1>        In the name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful.
*** Allah is the Arabic version for the Hebrew Elohim (Aliha, is the plural)***

2        Praise be to Allah the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds.
*** The translations of the words 'cherisher and sustainer' in the verse above are wrong since it should have read " Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds"***

3>        Most Gracious Most Merciful.
*** This verse should have read as follows " the Merciful, the Compassionate"***

4>        Master of the Day of Judgment.

5>        Thee do we worship and Thine aid we seek.

6>        Show us the straight way.

7        The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace Those whose (portion) is not wrath and who go not astray.
*** This Sura, the (Fatiha/Opening Prayer) is written in the manner by which mankind is addressing Allah. It was not one that was 'descended' to Muhammad but was inserted later on at the beginning of the Quran in imitation of the Lord's prayer which is of course also made up of seven verses. These seven verses are extremely important to the Muhammadans and are also called Al Mathani; Um al Quran; the Mother of the Book. It is well known that the Fatiha was not included in the Codex of Ibn Mas'ud***
